We’re all sick of viruses, and some are sick from a virus. There are still a lot of unknowns, unanswered questions. Thus, I decided to create a children’s picture book. My book called Wheels helps give children (ages 4-10) peace of mind by explaining what a virus actually is when a tractor (Wheels) asks his owner (Farmer Tom) What is a virus?
My book is helpful in that it gives parents a chance to read to them, or for the child to read, about ways in which they can stay safe . . . but not just from the coronovirus, any virus. My book is also a memior as the idea for the main character, a blue tractor (Wheels), was inspired by my memories I have of my father-in-law (Farmer Tom) giving rides to many boys and girls (his grandchildren) on his farm during family get-togethers. He passed away from cancer a few years ago, and so this book also honors him for his love of children and tractors.
